Meet the forest experts who are developing the project and working on the ground in Acre

Anthony first arrived in Acre in the 1980s and was involved in the development of extractive reserves, where local people can make a living from sustainable forest resources like Brazil nuts and wild rubber. Today he manages WWF-Brazil's work on forests and climate change.

Alberto was born in Rio Branco, the capital of Acre State. His formative years were shaped by two legendary Amazon campaigners: Chico Mendes and Marina Silva.

Sarah’s passion for the Amazon began when, as an undergraduate, she spent a short spell studying the interactions between hummingbirds and the flowers they visit on the banks of the Amazon in Colombia.
